Fire Testing for Railway Components – American Standard: NFPA 130

1.       Fire Testing NFPA 130 - Standard

NFPA 130 : Standard for fixed guideway transit and passenger rail systems.

2.       Fire Testing NFPA 130 – Standard Introduction.

This standard shall cover fire protection requirements for underground, surface, and elevated fixed guideway transit and passenger rail systems, including trainways, vehicles, and vehicle maintenance and storage areas, and for life safety from fire in fixed guideway transit and passenger rail system stations, trainways, vehicles, and outdoor vehicle maintenance and storage areas.

The purpose of this standard shall be to establish minimum requirements that will provide a reasonable degree of safety from fire and its related hazards in fixed guideway transit and passenger rail system environments.
